Recycling and Partners
At Wenlock Spring we value our countryside, it is so important to us, it’s beautiful and we want to keep it that way. That’s why we strive to be as environmentally green as possible.
Our water source is sustainable and our glass bottles are made out of recyclable glass. We recycle 99% of the materials used at the bottling site and are continually implementing new procedures to make us greener.
Our logistics department work hard on ensuring that we deliver our water in a way that keeps food miles as low as possible.
So, what have we been doing to become ‘greener’?
- All our waste is sorted and baled before it is sent for recycling, just 1% of waste leaves our site.
- Most of the waste that leaves our site is paper and so to reduce that further we introduced air blowers so less paper towels are used.
- We work closely with Parry & Evans who collect our paper and cardboard for recycling and Eurokey who collect our plastics for recycling.
- We have now set up an agreement to use Ecotricity, so from 1st October 2008 all of our mains electricity will come from a renewable energy source.
- Low energy light bulbs have been installed throughout our buildings and offices.
- Invoices are emailed wherever possible saving paper, ink and envelopes.
- You can also pay invoices online which again saves paper, ink and envelopes.
It doesn’t stop there. We are constantly reviewing our procedures and trying to find ways to become even greener. We shall keep you updated on our progress made.
